Former NBA superstar Nate Thurmond, that played throughout the 1960s then ’70s, passed away this weekend, after a brief fight along with leukemia. He was 74.
Thurmond — an Akron, Ohio indigenous — played 11 of his 14 periods along with the Warriors, prior to retiring after the 1976-77 season, one year after best the “Miracle” Cavaliers to the Asian Seminar Finals.
LeBron Brian paid tribute to Thurmond on Twitter, writing: “Damn man!!! R.I.P Akron’s very own Nate Thurmond. Learning u played in the exact same rec organization as me increasing up offered me chance of creating out! Thanks!”

During his career, Thurmond was an NBA All-superstar 7 times, chosen to the All-Protective Group 5 moments (2x With regard to the Initial Group then 3x With regard to the 2nd team), then chosen With regard to the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
His No. 42 jacket is retired With regard to the 2 the Golden Claim Warriors then Cleveland Cavaliers.
