Monster Trucks for Stevie: Community comes together for… – KPRC Houston

BAYTOWN, Texas – Hundreds gathered at the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown Thursday to recognize a minor boy diagnosed along with leukemia.

Stevie Wayne, 2, was diagnosed along with acute myeloid leukemia in October 2015. Just recently doctors informed his family there is absolutely no cure when it come to him, so they brought the minor boy residence to live out the remainder of his life in peace.

Despite his illness, Stevie’s passion when it come to monster trucks remains strong, so Thursday mid-day hundreds of monster truck owners loaded their vehicles in to the raceway parking lot. 

“I simply believe it’s insane that this numerous people treatment and many of the people below do not also already know Stevie,” Derek Matthews, Stevie’s cousin, said.

Unfortunately, Stevie had not been sensation well sufficient to earn it out to the raceway, however family pals tell KPRC two he was able to see a live waterway of all of the action from home. 

“It’s simply among those things. You notice it come across the internet and you truly really feel forced that possibly this is exactly what we hope to do today,” David Smith, that brought his monster truck to the event, said.

Stevie’s sister approved a plaque from the Organization Urban area Fire Department about his behalf. The plaque reads: “Never ever Provide Up, Battle adore Stevie.” 

The family has actually established a GoFundMe account when it come to Stevie.
