Congratulations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 2016 Man & Woman of the Year

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) celebrated its 2016 Man & Woman of the Year project along with a grand finale regard June 4, 2016 at the Fairmont San Francisco! The Man & Woman of the Year project is an annual 10-week fundraising competitors in between neighborhood leaders combined by one goal: to usage their leadership skills to increase funds to insight blood cancer patients live much longer and much more fulfilling lives.

The evening’s occasion featured a silent and live auction, dinner, dancing and a regimen honoring the 2016 class of candidates and the 2016 Boy & Girl of the Year, Preston and Edith, that are the 2 young, regional blood cancer survivors. The occasion culminated in the announcement of this year’s Man & Woman of the Year, Ari Kahan and Kaitlin Gallagher, the man and woman that increased the many cash throughout the 10-week campaign!

This year’s winners, Ari and Kaitlin, the 2 have actually pretty close ties to the mission of LLS. Ari, a Vice Head of state at Goldman Sachs, shed his father to an uncommon and aggressive type of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in 2013 and surpassed his objective to increase $100,000 in recognize of his father. Kaitlin, a college student at San Francisco Claim University, is an acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) survivor and celebrated her 5 year anniversary of remission this year, officially making her cured of cancer!

In addition to the Man & Woman of the Year campaign, this year’s Grand Finale celebrated the better Bay Area’s inaugural Student of the Year and all of Star campaign. The Student of the Year project is a seven-week fundraising competitors in between student pairs and their groups that join competitors with a $1,000 scholarship to the college or university of their choice. The all of Star project is a nationwide fundraising competitors where choose Man & Woman of the Year alumni represent their regional supply and contend versus all of Star candidates from across the country. This year’s Students of the Year are Gianna DeRanieri and Julia Richardson and this year’s all of Star candidate representing the better Bay Location is Larry Gerquest.
