DENTON — The 2016 Man and Woman of the Year — Eastern Shore campaign for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will certainly officially be kicking off its spring campaign On the subject of Friday, April 1.
Currently, candidates are functioning to protected group members and organize their campaigns to intend for the upcoming campaign in hopes of playing a important role in raising $300,000 for the Eastern Shore chapter of LLS.
Each year, across the country, candidates captivate in a competition to earn the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s “Man and Woman of the Year” titles by raising funds for LLS blood cancer research. Every dollar raised counts as one vote, and the titles are awarded to the man and woman along with the the majority of votes at the end of 10 weeks.
The 2015 Eastern Shore campaign raised $241,000 in merely 10 weeks. Oncology nurse at Anne Arundel Medical Focus Tracy Harrison, of Queenstown, received the 2015 woman of the year honor, as she and her group raised $89,092. Ridgely resident and Prince George’s County Police Officer Tom Bunce raised concerning $38,000 and was named the 2015 man of the year.
The Man and Woman of the Year-Eastern Shore campaign for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is now in its fourth year.
“Per year in Maryland, devoted individuals in our areas captivate in an exciting competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s ‘Man and Woman of the Year’ titles in Baltimore and the Eastern Shore,” said Maryland LLS Executive Director Jonathan Wilson. “Entering its fourth year, the Eastern Shore campaign continues to be a cornerstone of LLS’ mission to enhance funds and awareness for blood cancer research.
“While Per candidate is vying to succeed the competition, all the candidates delivering pride to the Eastern Shore and to the claim of Maryland for their initiatives in assist of regional blood cancer patients, survivors and their families,” he said. “We are really grateful for all the accomplishments On the subject of the Eastern Shore.”
